With the completion of and official launch of my freebies site (SilhouetteCameoFreebies.com) and the redesign and relaunch of my portfolio (echoia.com – small e, always a small e) this blog of mine is the last of my projects that kind of sits in limbo.
I want to return to blogging, but blogging has never been easy for me. I want my blog to have a clear purpose again, as it did when it first began. It started as a photo blog, and I think it is time to refocus it in that direction.
Everything got pretty muddy there for a while. With two sites in clear directions, however, I think it’s time to start focusing this one. I don’t intend to completely redesign it right now, I’m mostly still happy with the way it looks. It will receive some tweaks and updates for sure, as they’re sorely needed, but it serves its purpose.
The last couple of months I’ve been really diving into WordPress as a complete content management system, something I’ve never done before or even had a desire to do. I’ve always enjoyed building my own everything, but as I was working on echoia last month I made the decision to rebuild it once it was already done and use WordPress instead. I still have a lot of work to do on all three sites going forward, but having a clear understanding of where I am going with all of this is a drastic change from the last five years.
Being a full-time mom was the most wonderful part of my life so far. My big boy is big now, though, and with him in school my brain is finally unfurling.
As I work this out, I’m also considering a fourth project. One I really want a certain person to join me in, but convincing her is proving a difficult task.
But for now, I guess I’ll content myself with reclaiming my personal blog.
I am EchoStenger, and this is EchoStenger.com.
And it’s all a part of echoia.
