When you cook in my home…
You’re likely to have company.
And while Zoe is the most likely intruder, she is far from alone. Poachers (hah, egg poachers) come in all sizes, from 5 lbs to over 200. You have to watch your plates closely.
You also may have to make up games to keep small people entertained long enough and well enough to get so much as a pot of water on the stove. A recent favorite of ours is simple- ‘we’ draw. Dinosaurs and birds and symbiotes and trees and hospitals. All over the kitchen floor.
I am challenging myself to shoot JPEG. Challenging myself to do better. When it counts, I will shoot RAW. Today has shown me shooting RAW actually cuts way down on my post time. However, I have been very displeased with my white balance efforts and I want to improve this. To do so, I am going to remind me to put in the effort pre-processing. Let the camera do most of the work. Set my custom white balance (d-0!), my preferred color saturation etc and get it closer to right the first time.
We’ll see how it goes. But I do know that when it comes to portraits, I will shoot RAW. Those count, and I don’t want to mess them up.
