It’s funny because it’s who we are ; )
The last week of February was awesome. Warm sun, crisp breeze. Angel and I spent every day of it at the park save for the one we spent at the zoo.
Even on the wet days we patiently waited for the sun to come out and then pounced on every ray.
He’s a serious homebody, so every bit of this was full of WIN!
Sunday was our last day at the park- Monday we stayed home and I cleaned the car and house. It wasn’t the most fun, and it wasn’t the most effective. I kind of broke a few things, but Kevin will notice that tail light whenevas ; ) (not really, but I DID rip a set of blinds out of a window- whoops!)
As we headed back out to the park Tuesday morning at Angel’s request Kevin informed us it was indeed sprinkling. It threatens a lot of wet weather around here but usually it is ignorable- today that was not the case. It was put-on-your-windshield-wipers raining. That’s a lot of rain in a desert.
But I have a problem-solver.
He grabbed his Spider-Man umbrella, and I grabbed my Coach umbrella, and we headed out into the rain. I told Angel he had $5 to spend and that we’d find somewhere to spend it. We drove around our neighborhood a bit and he figured out just the place to go.
I was a big time Debbie Downer. For serious? You think Chuck E. Cheese is going to be open on a Tuesday morning at 9? But he was excited so I pointed us there and…
Chuck E. Cheese is open on Tuesday mornings at 9.
We were the only patrons, and Chuck E. brought out a cup of tickets, led Angel and I in a dance and we scored over 100 free tickets for being the only goofs in the place.
Angel tallied up his winnings and had me put them away. He already has several hundred tickets from the last time we were there. It’s pretty awesome that there’s a brand new Chuck E. Cheese a few blocks away.
Afterward, we headed over to Target because Kevin was asleep and we were trying to stay out to let him get the rest he needs. And also, because I always go to Target. It’s a sick thing.
Two minutes in I lost my phone and panic. I was doing the usual pocket-and-bag-and-sunglasses-and-keys-around-neck check when I realized something was missing. I turned and started to run blindly in whatever direction when an employee saw my face, smiled and asked if I’d lost my phone. Blithering genius, my mom says.
There were a lot of awesome Marvel toys to gawk at and drool over.
Yes, that’s what he’s gazing up at. Lego. Marvel. It’s a big thing. (no no, trust me, it’s there, next to the DC Universe stuff, it’s the red past the blue, you know, the totally out of focus bit? what can I say, I have a crush on the Bat. And now that Will Arnett has lent his voice to the character? Fahgeddaboudit!)
He even found some Lego Marvel on the Wii U display. See? Serious thing.
