Sunday before Labor Day I had hoped to take Angel to the Zoo, but when the weather forecast was 96° I decided against it. The Hogle Zoo is rather hilly and means pushing a stroller because, you know, at least one of us can be comfortable.
But that forecast was way off. It was overcast and bordering on cool (if you’re not pushing a stroller up hills at least).
Zoos are a favorite destination of mine. It may not be an ideal world, but they give animals that would probably be dead otherwise a place to breathe, eat and hopefully endear themselves and their species to us. This one makes me cranky usually since it is always under construction, and did I mention the hills? My God, the hills!
But it’s a great chance to lug around a bag of lenses and take advantage of natural light.
Of course, not every picture was a winner, but just having fun with the built in camera functions was pretty cool. I know the rhinos in the above picture aren’t captured well, but hey! You can see us looking at them! Funness!
and a polar bear…
grizzlies… but the winner was clearly the polar bear.
Not that Lego penguins can’t hold their own.
Or maybe these cuties.
Or. .. the polar bear.
