Who’s up for learning a cool new Illustrator technique today? While explaining it, I created the grass in the preview in about 4 minutes (not counting intro and outro time in the video’s run time, which still only takes the video up to a whopping 4:31). This technique, which uses one brush, about 10 strokes and […]
In this video I’ll show you how to work with .dxf files in Silhouette Studio basic or free edition. The file I am working with is my original design and it is available for purchase at Echoia Design on Etsy and can be accessed directly through this link: Lord Knows We Need More Bows . […]
With my new equipment and applications mostly sorted out, I’m finally able to start doing screencast tutorials! I’m very excited to bring this new type of content to my site. I am open to tutorial suggestions and requests. I have a few on my list right now, but I’m not opposed to seeing it grow […]
A few weeks back we made a Whirly Pop in Illustrator. Thanks to the never-ending heat, summer imagery is rarely far from my mind. While that tutorial was born from fantasies about midways and carnival rides, this week’s tutorial is born of beach memories. In this quickie but goody we’ll explore some shortcuts and incredibly useful […]
Who’s up for another Ten Minute Tutorial? You can’t go wrong with these guys, they’re just so easy, fast and will teach you something useful! Last week we learned to make Whirly Pops in Illustrator (though that took a bit longer than 10 minutes, I’d guess). This week we’re going to make a wood texture […]
Did you know that those awesome giant lollipops that Cosmo Kramer was eating in the backwards episode of Seinfeld are real? And that they’re called whirly pops? I was pretty young when I first saw that episode and I had no recollection of ever seeing those before. I called them The Kramer Lollipop. I’ve since […]
I love technology. Art + Technology = Love. Every time. I also love my 5 year old son to the moon and back. All day. Every day. It never stops. Angel + Any Single Minute = Love. Around the time he was born I decided to give up (for the time being) most art. For […]
I love art, and decorations, and doing things myself! This spring I talked Kevin into talking me into spending way too much money on some new equipment to bring my art to life, and I’ve been quite obsessed with this machine ever since. This little cutie is a Silhouette Cameo and I’ve fallen quite in […]
It’s time for another super-cute Ten Minute Tutorial! In this tutorial I’ll demonstrate a very quick and effective method I’ve been using lately in my (yet unpublished) recent work. It’s a great and easy method that will speed up symmetrical shapes that aren’t being created with default shape tools. Let’s make a web-ready panda cartoon […]
EchoStenger.com began in early 2013 as a side project of Echoia.com. Namely, Echoia Photography. Wanting to expand to include more varied content, it seemed only appropriate to change the site's title.
It currently is an outlet for many of my interests and passions. I share my work in and write tutorials for Adobe Illustrator, review products (mostly purchased by me), experiment with my Silhouette Cameo machine (hashtag vector in flesh!), share my day-to-day and still post photographs on a regular basis.
Thank you for visiting and coming along with me as I grow and seek out beauty in everything.
I am a Christian mom, girlfriend, dog-mom, cat-mom and pseudo step-mom. I take up hobbies faster than I can put them back down. I am from Texas, but currently reside in Utah.
I. Love. Air conditioning.
Fiona Apple.
Angel : My seraph son. I’ll likely speak of nothing and no one so much. Born October 2009. He likes the color orange blue and almost anything Marvel.
Veda : Black. Lab-like. Born Summer 2008. A life changer. Full name and title: Princess Darth Veda Jane Sultanfuss Stenger. Usually just Veda/Veda Jane when she’s bad. Also ‘Monster’. In your way? Just say, 'Scoot, Veda.'
Trinity : Rescued from the pound about 9 weeks of age, Summer 2009. I call her ‘Wiggle Bottoms’, 'Dummy' (lovingly, of course) or ‘Little Bit’. Big time cuddler.
Li : Dog cat. Scarier than both the dogs put together.
