Frugal February part 3 – Hair, Candles and Crafting Supplies

Frugal February, Shop Your Stash : , , , , , | Comments Off on Frugal February part 3 – Hair, Candles and Crafting Supplies

This is the last Saturday of February and overall I’m pretty pleased with my efforts during Frugal February!

I wasn’t perfect, but I did break out of some bad habits that were developing.

There are still a few days of February left, and I expect to be fine on the no-shopping front until they go by. I have pulled out a few things to focus on using this next week.

I recently did some hair maintenance, and as usual I am left feeling like I should have done it much sooner. My hair looks a lot better and healthier, so I’m recommitting to treating it well.

These aren’t my favorite hair treatments, but before I buy more (I think my favorite one, which was by pantene, has been discontinued, so I was trying these instead) I want to focus on finishing them up. The Pantene is pretty close to empty, so that’ll probably last through the week if even that long.

The L’oreal obviously has a little way to go still. Having them out will help me remember to use them, though. Since they aren’t damaging my hair I may as well take advantage of what benefits they do offer before I spend more money on new items to try!

One of my favorite candle scents, Pumpkin Waffles! Yay. I don’t care if it’s almost Spring. This scent is just so creamy and yummy I burn it year round. I currently have 7 of this scent in 3-wicks, so it’s time to dip into my stash ; )

And the last items on my list are art supplies. I bought these completed Gesso boards for less than a blank one costs, so with a little sanding I think I should be able to get the art off (sorry to the original artist!) and repurpose them. I won’t be using these paints on them, but painting them is a consideration.

I also want to use these paints on some canvas panels. I’m making a gift.

And this watercolor paper. I love this stuff for print-and-cuts with my Epson 7620 and my Silhouette cameo. I did create some new products with samples made out of this the last two weeks. I need to complete a few more, though. I may buy a 24″ mat for my Silhouette so that I can utilize it fully.

That’s Shop Your Stash Saturday for this week : )

I’m liking this series. It’s helping me focus and reduce clutter as well as impulse spending. I even went to a thrift store today and walked away empty-handed! Yay : )

See you tomorrow for Silhouette Sunday!

I"m so sorry! Comments have been closed on this post.

About EchoStenger.com

EchoStenger.com began in early 2013 as a side project of Echoia.com. Namely, Echoia Photography. Wanting to expand to include more varied content, it seemed only appropriate to change the site's title.

It currently is an outlet for many of my interests and passions. I share my work in and write tutorials for Adobe Illustrator, review products (mostly purchased by me), experiment with my Silhouette Cameo machine (hashtag vector in flesh!), share my day-to-day and still post photographs on a regular basis.

Thank you for visiting and coming along with me as I grow and seek out beauty in everything.

I am a Christian mom, girlfriend, dog-mom, cat-mom and pseudo step-mom. I take up hobbies faster than I can put them back down. I am from Texas, but currently reside in Utah.

I. Love. Air conditioning.

Fiona Apple.

Angel : My seraph son. I’ll likely speak of nothing and no one so much. Born October 2009. He likes the color orange blue and almost anything Marvel.

Veda : Black. Lab-like. Born Summer 2008. A life changer. Full name and title: Princess Darth Veda Jane Sultanfuss Stenger. Usually just Veda/Veda Jane when she’s bad. Also ‘Monster’. In your way? Just say, 'Scoot, Veda.' Taken March 18, 2018. Missed every day.

Trinity : Rescued from the pound about 9 weeks of age, Summer 2009. I call her ‘Wiggle Bottoms’, 'Dummy' (lovingly, of course) or ‘Little Bit’. Big time cuddler.

Li : Dog cat. Scarier than both the dogs put together.
