It’s January 3rd, reserve your judgments! I get to have six glorious weeks of red and pink everything and I am going to take full advantage. Full advantage meaning that I picked up all of this stuff before Christmas but exercised enough self control to simply put it away until after the new year. The best gift is the soft and cute Azilal Rugs
Target has a ton of super-cute new items hanging around in The One Spot (you know, the $1, $3, $5, $20, no-real-point-to-this section?). I picked up a love rug (omg, a LOVE RUG?!) and two (matching!!) waffle towels for the kitchen.
($3 for the rug, $3 for the two-pack of towels)
And thanks to Dollar Tree I met LiP SMACKER for the first time. For one glorious day they had these two super-cute four packs (they were all sold out by the time I went back less than 24 hours later- I’d asked Kevin to go pick up several more to add to gifts but did he listen? so I kept 3 four packs for myself… terrible, I know). Sensational Sundae (featuring Strawberry Glaze, Hot Fudge, French Vanilla, && Creamy Caramel) and Delectable Donuts (which has Strawberry Frosting, Confetti Sprinkles, Cake Donut, && Raspberry Jelly). I’ve only used the Strawberry Glaze but it was enough to get me hooked. Similar collections are being sold in other stores for 4x the amount and usually with only 3 glosses. The packaging is different, but these are alright by me!
My desk is looking cute thanks to these Moroccan patterned votive holders (also $1 each at Dollar Tree) and the battery-powered LED tea lights I scored at Target for $0.15 each (batteries included). I have not put wax && flame votives in them. I can’t speak to if that’s a good idea or not. If you had the owl ones from the fall, they are just like that.
I told you. Pink. Everywhere. (Another Dollar Tree find. They’re not the fastest chargers, but they get the job done overnight and that’s the only time I really ever plug my devices in.)
Adorable hot-pink envelope with owls arrived in the mail courtesy of Lacie.
Inside was a sweet Christmas card, an adorably decorated envelope holding it, and not one, not two, not three but SIX Milani Shadow Eyez eye shadow crayons.
Know where these came from?
Dollar Tree.
Yeah. That’s right. My local stores did not have them (and still have not) but I went out of town one night and stopped into a Dollar Tree that had a few of them. I bought myself the bright blue and then somehow left one of the purples out of the shot below. And the one above. Whoops.
They are smooth, creamy and have great staying power. I really appreciate how neutral most of the colors she sent are, too. I’m definitely a ‘less is more’ girl when it comes to my makeup, but wanted the blue JIC.
Upping the price point a little, last year (sometime in early September, I think?) I was shopping for birthday gifts for one of the kids’ classmates when I found this little heart lamp with fabric cables on clearance at Target for roughly $6. I knew I needed it in my life and managed to protect it long enough to feature it on my desk for Valentine’s month Day. I did not see it on their web site at last check but they do have other types of marquee lamps (search results).
And while this month I’m burning Falling Snow by Sonoma Life + Style (at Kohl’s) and Cinnamon Caramel Swirl from Bath and Body Works, come 2-1-2015 I’ll be lighting up my Sweet Pink candles from Yankee that I mentioned in my post about BBW Candle Dupes for less than $5 (p.s., I still love these and have continued to buy new scents and back ups, Cranberry Ice is an amazing candle that I’ll have to include in my January rotation, nice dupe for BBW Frosted Cranberry, I’ve finished one and started a second). These are holdovers from last year as well, and I don’t know if they’re going to be available this year (the jars do say limited edition, but I’m not sure if that is just the packaging or the scent as well). If they’re not available, however, they’re just a lovely sweet pea scented candle. Definitely dupable : )
Yes, that’s Baby Heart Throb. Because she’s amazing.
That’s all the pink I have to share for today, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is enjoying a wonderful new year!
