Project Ten Can – Crazy Candle Lady

Projects : , , | Comments Off on Project Ten Can – Crazy Candle Lady

It’s not any secret around Echoia that I’m a bit of a candle hoarder. And by hoarder I do literally mean hoarder. I buy them compulsively at times, and the rest of the time I’m like, I don’t want to burn you, my preciouses… .

Crazy Candle Lady.

I’ve been working on this and reminding myself what they’re for. Also, who are we kidding, there are always going to be new scents to fall/be in love with. Hoard with caution.

Pumpkin Cinnamon Bun? Didn’t come back. Apparently there were many bad batches. Hoard it.

Marshmallow Fireside? Dime a dozen. Burn that bitch.

So I’ve decided to start a new project. A Project Ten Can. Where can is short for candles and also representative of the jars they’re in. When I have ten empty/used cans, I’m successful. Until then? I’m on a candle no-buy!

I’ve picked out ten medium-to-large candles to burn through before I can buy any additional. Ten. When I’m done with those ten, I’ll still have roughly forty large candles in my stashes. Eventually I’d like to get my ‘collection’ down to one drawer. It currently takes up 3, two shelves and miscellaneous other parts of the house. I’m not proud of it.

I’ll show you the candles I’ve picked out to burn for Project Ten Can.

Fall Wreath by Yankee Home Classics

The Yankee candles in Wreath scents are pretty incredible. These are 7 oz candles and on the smaller side, but I’d say classify as medium. They are the smallest candles I have in my Ten Can project. They’ll be one of the first scents I burn.

These aren’t showing up on YankeeCandle.com, but I think they are very similar to Autumn Wreath. I’ll have to check that out sometime.

Apple and Pumpkin Picking by Yankee Home Classics

I love pumpkin candles and I love apple candles, but this scent is to die for. It is sweet and creamy. I had picked it out last fall in Target when Kevin found me and without prompting he decided to pick one off the shelf and give it a sniff. He then put it in the cart and said- we need this. And he is not a candle fan!

Spiced Apple Toddy by Bath and Body Works

This one is a little strong for me on cold sniff, and it might be a little better suited for Christmas/Thanksgiving time, so there may be an alternate brought in, but I think it’s high time I give this candle a shot.

Hot Buttered Rum by Bath and Body Works

Autumn Walk by 719 Walnut Avenue

719 Walnut Avenue has brought out a bigger fall line this year, and this will be my third burn on this scent.  I still have one more of it, nice and crisp like cold air and falling leaves.

Marshmallow Fireside by Bath and Body Works

Gotta burn it! How else can I justify rebuying it in its beautiful new packaging?

That’s only 8? What? The last two are currently burning on my stove. They are Caramel Cinnamon Bun by 719 Walnut Avenue and Pumpkin Waffles by the same brand. Both are pretty great BBW dupes.

I’m hoping to finish these scents up by the middle of October. I will probably then pick out another set and lift my no-buy but cap the number of new candles I will bring into the house.

Wish me luck and accountability : )

I"m so sorry! Comments have been closed on this post.

About EchoStenger.com

EchoStenger.com began in early 2013 as a side project of Echoia.com. Namely, Echoia Photography. Wanting to expand to include more varied content, it seemed only appropriate to change the site's title.

It currently is an outlet for many of my interests and passions. I share my work in and write tutorials for Adobe Illustrator, review products (mostly purchased by me), experiment with my Silhouette Cameo machine (hashtag vector in flesh!), share my day-to-day and still post photographs on a regular basis.

Thank you for visiting and coming along with me as I grow and seek out beauty in everything.

I am a Christian mom, girlfriend, dog-mom, cat-mom and pseudo step-mom. I take up hobbies faster than I can put them back down. I am from Texas, but currently reside in Utah.

I. Love. Air conditioning.

Fiona Apple.

Angel : My seraph son. I’ll likely speak of nothing and no one so much. Born October 2009. He likes the color orange blue and almost anything Marvel.

Veda : Black. Lab-like. Born Summer 2008. A life changer. Full name and title: Princess Darth Veda Jane Sultanfuss Stenger. Usually just Veda/Veda Jane when she’s bad. Also ‘Monster’. In your way? Just say, 'Scoot, Veda.' Taken March 18, 2018. Missed every day.

Trinity : Rescued from the pound about 9 weeks of age, Summer 2009. I call her ‘Wiggle Bottoms’, 'Dummy' (lovingly, of course) or ‘Little Bit’. Big time cuddler.

Li : Dog cat. Scarier than both the dogs put together.
